Hay fever and other allergic rhinitis with sneezing, a runny or itchy nose and itchy, watery eyes, and long-standing hives (chronic urticaria).

Fexofenadine blocks the H1 histamine receptors that produce allergy symptoms when histamine reaches them. Unlike older antihistamines it is kept out of the brain by the blood-brain barrier, which is why it causes so little sedation.

Headache, drowsiness in a small number of people, dizziness and nausea. Most people notice nothing.

Do not take fexofenadine with fruit juice, especially grapefruit, apple or orange, which reduce how much is absorbed; take it with water. Antacids containing aluminium or magnesium should be separated by at least two hours. Tell your doctor about kidney disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is sold without a prescription in Pakistan in some strengths.
